Providing Security in the rain

KUNAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan - Texas National Guard Staff Sgt. Jerry McGlothlin, a Fort Worth, Texas, native, provides security at the Narang Girl’s School Sept. 6, 2012. Provincial Reconstruction Team Kunar visited the school to check on the status of construction and to ensure previous faults had been corrected. The PRT is made up of U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force and civilians who work alongside local government officials to reconnect the people of Afghanistan with their government. McGlothlin is a squad leader for the PRT Security Force element and is deployed from Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 143rd Infantry (Airborne) out of Austin, Texas.
